Day 4 = 10

I had a really fabulous day!
I decided to have a "Danielle" Day!
I started the day with my mani/pedi tech...also named Danielle...
While enjoying my pedi I read 25 pages of awesomeness about Mother Teresa
(seemed odd to be getting a foot & leg massage while reading about her bare, cracked & sore feet). It makes me want to do more & have the kids do more too! What an amazing, loving and giving modern day saint she was!

Then I strolled through the aisles @ Target & enjoyed being able to think through the prices, Christmas gifts, wants vs. needs etc....

I ended my day with a 7:15 Vinyassa Yoga class...I was exhausted heading there...but so glad I did!
Hopefully soon my energy will be up instead of down....I've been so tired!!!
Goodnight!

Day 3 =10 points

So I lost a point yesterday....due to my eyes crossing & not being able to get through 15 minutes of reading....I knew I was gonna be sleepy!
I went to bed ( drifted off on the couch)@ 10:30pm & woke up @ 9am...nice!

I started the day leaving the handsome hunny below a Thank You card leaning up against the coffee pot as my RAK....He takes such good care of us in everyway...i thought i should let him know how thankful & lucky we are!
I found an uplifting book (packed away) that I read while parked in the parent pick up line (obviously awake enough to get in my 15 minutes) until my Mother Teresa reflections comes to my door step( thanks to my good friend Jane who ordered it for me as an RAK to me) :)
Due to the fact the book is a daily devotional & I wanted to get all 15 minutes in....i went to meaningful dates & read (birthdays, anniversary ect).
May 27th... my birthday devotion stood out to me:

Day 2 = 9 points

Ok...so i'm only 1/2 way through day 2...but i have a feeling that i'm gonna be in bed & too tired to journal tonight...so the more I cam implement in the 1st 1/2 of the day before the 3 kids get home...the better!!!

I started the day by joining another 8 week challenger for a Zumba class!
So glad I went...change my mind completely about Zumba.... thanks to Linda & her awesome moves & jams!
I've drank 32 of my 64 oz of water
I sent off my 2nd set of adorable "thank you cards" saying thank you to the kids teachers for starting the school year off right!
I printed these here: (Thanks Kim)  http://thetomkatstudio.com

And as i'm typing...i'm eating a yummy grilled chicken & spinach (1 veggie) salad!

Day 1 = 10 points

My Sister-In-Law Heather has joined me on this journey!  Yeah!!!  I love that we can text back & forth all day & keep each other motivated!!!
I went to bed last night @ 12am...after deciding to sign up...research was on!
Heather says that's the competitive side of me (she's right) but it's also the "planning ahead" side of me too!
Knowing that I have an extremely "full plate" (no pun intended) I know that it is CRUCIAL to map out snacks, meals, when i will have 15 quiet minutes to read, when i am going to drink 64oz + of water & then mapping out the close st restroom!  All while trying to recooperate myself & household after a 6 days @ the ballpark ...you know...laundry, dishes, huge stack of paperwork, appointments, 3 school drop offs & 3 school pick ups, brushing up on my stock market skills(which were poor to begin with) since Adam got rewarded with stock....the list goes on...I know for sure i'm not ALONE!
Speaking of being crazy busy....I slept till 8am today & lost 2 whole hours of my day....i knew i wasn't gonna be able to make it to the gym...so Jillian & I had a "Full Frontal" & "Back -In Action" DVD date in my bedroom...i felt so funny....i was having flash backs of my mom working out to Jane Fonda & The Step videos!!!
Now the contest is up to 110 contestants...one of the rules is no eating after 8pm....I feel like a Gremlin!
So since i'm a night eater...most likely I will have to hit the hay early (yeah..i'll get my 7 hours) or lock myself in my bedroom! ;)

Starting tomorrow.....

Here is The Deal to help me find a better "D"!

As a participant, you will have the opportunity to earn points every day by following a list of requirements.  At the end of every week, you will total your points then record them to the "8 Weeks to a Better You Points Bracket".  All the participants will receive access to this online spreadsheet, and we trust will be truthful when recording their points.  On you honor people!

Here's how you earn points...

Physically Better Yourself

1. Exercise at least 45 minutes a day!

2. Get AT LEAST 7 hours of sleep a night (if you are short a little just squeeze a nap in to make up for it).

3. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day

4. No Sugar-there are different ways to do this.  We prefer eliminating sugars and white flours (which turn into sugars) to get the most bang for your buck.  But if you would like to just do without sugars than you can make that call.

5. No Soda or Junk Food Yes that means no Diet Coke ladies or fast food! Ya we know that will not be an easy point to earn...but you will love yourself and how you feel if you do it.

6. Eat at least 2 servings of fruit and 2 servings of vegetables

7. No eating after 8 p.m.

Emotionally/Spiritually Better Yourself

8. Write in your journal EVERY DAY.

9. Complete at least 15 minutes of uplifting reading or scripture study.

10. Complete an act of service or random act of kindness.  Whether it be a small one or a big one, do something kind for someone else that is out of your normal routine.

You receive 1 point per item per day, so that's 10 points a day you can earn.  There will also be 1 bonus challenge every week worth extra points.  It could be anything from cleaning out your fridge to donating your time or money to a charity or worthy cause.

Now we know this is not easy so to help out you get a FREE DAY where you get the full 10 points whether or not you complete all the requirements!  You can choose which day of each week is your free day each week, but you cannot choose different days for different points.  The only exception to this rule is exercise.  Your free day from exercise can be different if you choose.  For example - you may choose Saturday as your free day but choose to workout that day and take Sunday off from exercise.
